Archie's Club
Archie’s Club was created with the siblings of autistic in mind. We wanted to ensure that every child is are aware they aren't the forgotten heroes and they are equally important to their family. Through camps, meetups, and shared experiences, we give these kids a place to belong, connect, and just be themselves.
A 2019 survey conducted by Siblings Australia, with support from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) found that a staggering 84% of adult siblings of a person with disability reported family stress as an issue during their childhood and 66% experienced anxiety.
Our camp aims to give these children a chance to connect with others who have similar lived experiences, take a break from their caring roles, and indulge in some good old fashioned kid fun.
What to expect
Archie’s Club is a way for kids aged between 10 - 16 years to connect with each other though experiences in nature and social catch ups. Archie's Club is open to two groups of 10 kids each year: Group 01 is aged 10-12 years and Group 02 aged 13-16 years.
Being part of the Archie's Club is a rewarding experience with the kids taking part in the following:
✨ 3-Day and 2-Night camping experience in Victoria's High Country staying at the amazing Mansfield Autism Statewide Service Farm with some great fun, inclusive activities.
✨ Small, social group catch ups and virtual hangouts.
✨ Peer support from others who get it
✨ A safe, no pressure space to talk (or not to talk if that's what they are after).
Why it Matters.
Siblings often carry quiet loads. Archie’s Club is about lifting some of that weight and reminding them: you're important too.
